Honestly, this was really just a long (but oh so amusing!) introduction to my thoughts on the ECM rebalance patch in the works.  *two cents begin*

I’ve been crying about the Falcon’s role in EVE’s PvP for some time.  It feels very WoW-warlock-esque: people shouting ” Overpowered!!” while the devs seem not to hear and continue  to buff ‘locks and stealth-nerf other classes.  I’ve seen a lot of the same forum antics as well.  The warlock class forums (and nearly every other forums where a warlock happened to be mentioned) were full of posts about how warlocks were NOT overpowered and that you were just stupid to have been killed before you got through their three-times-your-life hit point pool.  In EVE’s forums, I read post after post about how you can counter Falcons and though many are somewhat valid suggestions, they just don’t seem to work on a day-to-day basis.  I solved this little dilemma by training into a Falcon myself.  Ta da!  No More Tears™!

Falcons don’t seem balanced when compared to other eWar ships, though.  Their range puts them outside the battle zone and there is no appreciable degradation of jamming power even out over 200km.  The next best range in the eWar ships is the Remote Sensor Dampeners of the Arazu at around 165km with all relevant skills at five.  It has become mandatory to fly with a Falcon in your fleet and the alternatives are nil.  I hate not having options.

It seems the Arazu, though, may have been meant as a counter to the Falcon: close enough to the fight to assist with drones and rails, while dampening the Falcon to bring it in toward your DPS or to get it to leave all together.  Currently, this is completely negated by the extra 35+km the Falcon reaches.

All in all, I think the proposed changes are WONDERFUL and will help give fleets more choices when it comes to tactics.

Apocrypha has been wonderful so far.  I’ve not run into any of the lag and other issues about which I’ve read complaints.  The wormholes are badass and a nice change from all the pirating we do.  We made some decent money in one and took out a Raven, a Caracal, and a CNR (poor guy had been stuck in there for TWO DAYS).

The Ninja Pirates picked up another new member, Drero, on referral from our alliance pals.  We’re excited to have him and can’t wait to break him in.  *grin*

I’m dying for the data dump so we can get our killboards going normally again.  The cheaty way we’ve got it now makes me feel unclean.  *raspberry*  But I do love the map mod I installed.  It shows our activity for the week with a neato red circle that makes us look terribly menacing.  Don’t go there, it says.  THEMS NINJAS!

I’ve been working on some fiction to post and it’s sapping my will to blog.  I hope to have some of it up here in the next couple weeks.  *crosses fingers*  But who knows how it will turn out.  Another phantom poo, probably.

Ken installed my second hard drive and I was finally able to reinstall all the games I was missing: Bioshock, Rainbow Six: Vegas, The Orange Box, Spore, CSI: Dark Motives, CSI: Miami, Call of Duty 4, and Fallout 3.  I am also bound and determined to get a Darkfall account this next time the store opens.  I must play this game.  I WILL NOT BE DENIED!

Tonight will go down in TNP history.  We have–for the first time!–vanquished my nemesis:  Ivort, the sniper Apoc, is no more!  (Well, until he fits out another.)    It was an epic battle where I juggled two Falcons in mine, whilst keeping Ivort jammed and a Thorax away.  I felt like Superman when he vacationed on the sun.  The peasants rejoiced and there was a barn dance in our honour!  Ivort was pretty cool about the gang bang and so I must salute him.  Thanks, man!  o7

We also ran in to Spectre and got to hang with him.  We got a couple kills with him and he even visited our vent.  (I was a tad concerned he’d be frightened off by our chatter but he’s apparently just as warped as we are.)  Spectre’s pretty badass and I wish we could win him over to TNP.  *rubs hands together to show formation of evil plans*

Last, but not least, I got our alliance holding page up!  It’s sweet, sweet temporary-ness and links to our killboards as well as the others in the alliance.  Make sure you check our careful chemist in the corner.  He’s win!

Last night we had our first run-in EVER with one of the more famous EVE powers-that-be.  We warped out to a planet in Tama in search of a Brutix.  Boy, did we find him!  And he was a Goon!  I practically swooned with excitement. He gave us some insight on his feelings about our home space and even some words of encouragement for our kill.

We picked up a new pilot, Corinva (weirdly enough, he was another acquisition from a fight and has been nicknamed Corn), and helped him get his first kill.  The poor Thorax pilot was confused, but we set him straight!

The Ninja Pirates are still growing and we’ve added five new pilots to our roster!  Welcome Corinva, Orbit Uranus, Teni Kanabou, Sgt Cruz, and Gaelrond!  Yay!  I love you guys! <3

This is a post I wrote two days ago, hemmed and hawed over, and finally (with the help of you guys!) am posting now with names and details of the not-so-innocent changed.

Hanging out in Old Man Star was pretty uneventful last night until I’d announced my intentions to log (doesn’t it always go that way?).  Dan, in his Vexor. was attacking Mr. X,  in a cruiser right outside the station.  I immediately warped over to watch the goings on ’cause you know I love a good show!  The cruiser docked up, complaining that it was three on one and wasn’t fair. 

 ”I could take those two Vexors if it wasn’t for that Blackbird!”  The Blackbird, of course, was mine and Ken was in the other Vexor.  Keep in mind that I’d never cycled up a single jammer.

I assured Mr. X that I’d had no intention of interfering and simply wanted to watch the fight.  He insisted that as long as I wasn’t around he could take both Dan and Ken and that the only reason he’d docked up was because he knew I’d jump in and help.  I told him again that I was not looking to join in his fights against our Vexors and only wanted to watch.  He then challenged Ken and Dan to a fight to which they agreed.  Mr. X was insistent that I not be involved and I again assured him that I’d be watching only and from 100 km.  He also agreed.

We fleeted Mr. X and he warped over to me at our safespot.  I assumed he would have warped in at 100 km as that was where I’d agreed to watch.  As soon as he landed, though, he started shooting me.  Fortunately, I was all ready aligned and warped out immediately (and I’m not going to fib, I expected as much.  He’d been quite accusatory in Local and I’ve noticed those who are unable to see trustworthiness in others usually lack it themselves!).  As soon as I landed, I warped right back.  The agreement with Mr. X was that I wouldn’t participate in the action but as he’d attacked me, he obviously wanted me to join in.  Right?  Right.  I jammed him and and Ken and Dan blew him to smithereens.  He claimed he’d never agreed to fight just the Vexors and that I’d been the one acting inappropriately by staying to watch the fight.  We laughed at his logic and he left local soon after.

A short while later, Dan scanned down another cruiser in one of the belts.  Sure enough, it was Mr. X.  I warned everyone that he’d probably brought friends and we warped in to spank him again.  Within seconds, a T2 cruiser warped in (decloaked?) to help.  

“Oh, shit.  I know that T2 cruiser pilot.  He’s a blogger!”  My corp knows my feelings on attacking a fellow blogger (though they hate the reduction in targets, they humour me) but this time they put their collective foot down and I was forced to agree.

We focused on the T2 cruiser, working it down, and a frigate warped in.  Dan was getting low but the frigate had him pointed.  My jams were tied up with the cruiser and T2 cruiser and they didn’t cycle fast enough; he ended up going down, losing his point on Mr. X, who promptly warped out.  Ken finished off the frigate and then the T2 cruiser and we scooped the loot and sped off.

All in all, it was a terribly exciting incident.  Aside from Mynxee and YoMma (since I was all ready pals-y with them by the time I ran into them in game), this was my first celebrity sighting!  I should have asked for an autograph but I’m not sure how that would have gone over.  *grin*

So I’ve been quiet for a bit longer than I meant to be.  I ran into the corporation of a fellow blogger and was really excited to share the story with everyone.  However, upon reflecting, I realized it showed a member of that blogger’s corp in a poor light.  I’m not sure about the protocol when dealing with people I count as friend-types (as I view all the EVE bloggers even when I haven’t met them before) and less than stellar behaviour by their actual friends.  I’ve no wish to offend; any suggestions?

The Ninja Pirates is really maturing and our members are stepping up, eager to learn new roles.  It’s so gratifying to see our little corp growing both in size and skill.

Widow Maker showed us his talent as FC on a roam down to a system I hadn’t visited in a long while.  I was a bit behind as I was still recovering from my dual-podding the night before.  I got the system link from Fleet, set my destination, and warped to the first gate on the list.  There was an enormous SWIGG camp and I popped through with alacrity…right into Nourvukaiken.  Thankfully I was in my shiny new interceptor, One Pump Chump, and I hauled ass through the shorter high sec route to our destination.  I missed out on all the fun on the way down, though, including Widow nimbly manuvering our fleet around a Beyond Divinity camp (those boys don’t fuck around).  

We finally met up in Mara and cast about for targets.  We bagged an Arbitrator and chased several inties around but I never could lock one down.  I even ran into a pal from the EVE-Bloggers channel though the full story there is protected by The International Wimminz Conspiracy™.  

We packed up and headed back to Tama where I logged and the rest of the fleet proceeded to get a few kills.  I must be bad luck and/or outta practice.  *grin*  All in all, it was a good night and Widow was, as expected, a kick ass FC.

Last night’s roam down to Old Man Star was pretty uneventful.  We locked down a Phobos but were too slow getting a web on him and he called in friends.  We all got out safely, though, which is a great improvement on some of our other fights.

The real excitement was later and to my great and everlasting chagrin, I CAN’T EVEN BLOG ABOUT IT.  But, pals, you just hit me up in game and I will tell you ALL about it.

I did lose my freshly un-garaged Ares to some absolute stupidity, though.  Ken got locked down in his Deimos and I got distracted by his warp jam and a corp-friend talking to me about the Secret Exciting Thing and let my cloak wear off.  Of course I got caught too and we both blew up.  In spite of the loss, I am  rediscovering the joys of my inty and will probably fly that until my Falcon training is complete on the 19th of February.  I’m terribly excited to fly an eWar ship that isn’t CCP’s punching bag.

Do any of you guys use Pandora?  Do you know if there’s some badass plugin so I can share my stations with people?  ’Cause I love it and I’d like to spread that love all around.  Like hot, melty butter.  Mmmm.
