This month’s EVE Blog Banter comes to us from Manasi of A Mule In EvE.  Manasi asks ‘How do we, EVE bloggers, adapt to changes as they are thrust upon us (speed changes, no more ghost training, all the Dev blogs, etc), or as our lives make playing the game different (more time, less time)?‘”

This is my first time with the club, so keep the gloves on for now.  *wink*

Manasi asks an interesting question.  As bloggers, what’s different about the way we adapt to changes when compared to a regular EVE player?  I believe that each type of player learns of said change–whether it’s beforehand, gleaning every tidbit of information from the myriad avenues available, or after, through the trial and error of gameplay–and then begins the process of breaking down that information to absorb it.  The mastication portion, if you will.  Our EVE blogger-player then takes the process to their public forum to hold it up for others to examine, tear down, rearrange, and, to steal a word I learned in WoW, theorycraft.  This process continues in the goings-on and in-character posts and fiction written (and sometimes, as in the case of more or less play time available, this can effect a shift in the focus of that writing) until there emerges a stance toward the change, allowing that blogger to move past it and on to something fresh.  I believe this digestion is how we adapt to the enormous number of changes a game as complex as this one sends our way.
